Tennessee Jail Roster Inmate Search

Tennessee is a relatively small state but has 95 counties reflecting the large population in the state. Law enforcement in the state is localized to ensure that there is law enforcement to respond to any emergencies. Whenever the law enforcement officer from the sheriff's office, state or other state and federal officers arrest a person, they detain them in the 113 county and city jails in Tennessee.

While it may seem like a daunting task searching for an inmate in over 100 jails. It is relatively easy to handle things over the internet. In these easy steps:

  • Search for the official jail or sheriff's websites
  • Go to the lookup tool
  • You will have to provide the inmate's official names
  • The tool will return a list of all the inmates that match the search.

Keep in mind that not all jails have websites. Some sites may be geo-locked and inaccessible from afar. You can also call or visit the jails whenever you cannot get the inmate roster. Some jails may provide the full list of inmates on PDF that you will have to scan through.

Tennessee Statewide Inmate Search

Tennessee makes state laws to help keep the residents safe. The judges sentence those who break the law to prison time. The only place they can serve sentences for state crimes, such as violent crimes, is a state prison. The state government runs the state prisons through the Tennessee Department of Correction. The department has a list of all inmates in its 12 state prisons and 4 private prisons owned by Corvin. This makes it easier to perform an inmate search without driving around the state to find a loved one.

  • Visit the Url: https://foil.app.tn.gov/foil/search.jsp
