Oregon

Each year, at least 15,000 people are incarcerated in the Oregon prison system. The offenders reside in jails and prisons all across the state. The arresting agencies in charge of jails and the state agencies overseeing state and federal prisons maintain and update their inmate listings, making them available to the public online or on request. Then, use any of the following three ways to find someone held in an Oregon correctional facility: -

Oregon Statewide Inmate Search

The Oregon Department of Corrections supervises the 12 state prisons in Oregon. Here, the agency oversees up to 15,000 offenders under varying security levels. Likewise, the agency maintains an elaborate offender database on its official website. Use it to locate a felon in Oregon as follows: -

  • Go to https://docpub.state.or.us/OOS/intro.jsf
  • Agree to the terms and conditions
  • Search by name or SID number
  • Click ‘Search’
  • Click on the SID number of the offender you are looking for to display the offender name & aliases, age, gender, height, weight, caseload, date of birth, race, hair color, eye color, location, status, institution admission date, earliest release date, list of offenses

Federal Inmate Search

FCI Sheridan and FCI Sheridan Camp are the two federal facilities in Oregon. The two facilities hold up to 1,475 persons charged for violating federal laws in the region. The inmates reside at the federal prison and camp to await trial at the U.S. District Courthouse for the District of Oregon. More so, the Federal Bureau of Prisons maintains an elaborate inmate database accessible to the public from its official website. Use it to locate a federal inmate as follows: -

  • Go to https://www.bop.gov/mobile/find_inmate/byname.jsp
  • Opt to search by name or BOP number
  • Narrow your search by specifying the offender’s race, sex, or age
  • Click ‘Search’
  • The BOP offender lookup will generate the offender’s name, BOP number, age, sex, race, and release date

Oregon Jail Roster Search

There are 36 city and county jails in 36 Oregon counties. The jails detain up to 6,000 offenders each year. These are pre-trial offenders awaiting court arraignment and sentencing and sentenced offenders awaiting transfer to prison, release after bail settlement, or serving sentences of up to 12 months for misdemeanor charges.

City jails serve as holding facilities for Police Departments, and county jails are the holding facilities for Sheriff’s Departments. Law enforcement agencies have online jail rosters on their official websites, which are accessible to family and friends. A typical jail roster details the offenders’ demographics, arrests, and booking details. If your online jail roster search is unsuccessful, call the arresting law enforcement agency and book an appointment to scrutinize the jail roster in person.
