New Jersey

Are you trying to locate someone behind bars in New Jersey? The individual may be in a state prison, county prison, jail, or federal prison. These correctional facilities hold up to 20,000 offenders each year. By 2019, New Jersey had an incarceration rate of 341 per 100,000 people. In turn, the relevant state and law enforcement agencies maintain elaborate offender searches on their official websites. Anyone can access these online tools and trace an offender serving time in the New Jersey prison system. Plus, you can book an appointment to scrutinize the inmate listings in person. Then, here are three common ways to conduct a New Jersey inmate search:

New Jersey Jail Roster Search

The state of New Jersey has 19 city and county jails with a daily inmate population of approximately 15,000 offenders. The jails provide safe and secure detention for persons awaiting trial, case hearings, sentencing, release, or transfer to prison. Still, offenders sentenced for misdemeanor charges end up serving sentences of up to 12 months in jail.

Then, is the person you are looking for an arrestee in New Jersey within the last 60 days? The individual may be in one of the 19 city or county jails. Police departments and Sheriff’s Offices use these jails as their primary holding facilities. They maintain detailed jail rosters on their official websites or offline at the jail lobbies to keep tabs on the inmate population. A typical jail roster displays the detainee’s demographics, arrest, and booking details, and incarceration information. Still, it excludes detainees undergoing the booking process.

New Jersey Statewide Inmate Search

There are 9 state prisons, 11 residential community release programs, and an assessment center in New Jersey. The correctional facilities hold felons serving time for serious crimes, including sexual offenses, battery, and manslaughter. New Jersey Department of Corrections (NJDOC) is the agency that oversees prison operations, welfare, and security of all offenders under its jurisdiction. Then, if your friend or loved one is serving time in a New Jersey state prison, use the NJDOC offender search to locate them. Unlike other offender search tools, the NJDOC offender lookup allows you to search for an offender using as many parameters as possible, generating up to 250 search results per page.
