Missouri Department of Corrections

In Missouri, the Department of Corrections (DOC) is responsible for the care and custody of individuals who have been sentenced to prison.

The DOC oversees all state prisons and provides services and programs to help inmates reintegrate back into the community.

Inmates are assigned to one of the state's 21 prisons, depending on their security level. Inmates may be assigned to a minimum-security, medium-security, or maximum-security prison.

Mississippi Inmate System and Records

The Mississippi Department of Corrections is responsible for supervising inmates in the state's prison system.

The MDOC also provides a variety of rehabilitation and re-entry services for inmates. Inmates in Mississippi are held in state prisons, county jails, and private prisons. Inmates in state prisons are usually serving longer sentences for more serious offenses.

County jails hold inmates awaiting trial or serving short sentences for minor offenses. The state contracts private prisons to provide additional inmate housing. Access to these records comes from the data provided by corresponding sheriff's Departments. It might take a few hours or days for all records to be available through the Mississippi DOC system.
