Maryland Inmate Search
In Maryland, anyone can be arrested and convicted in the county or city jail and state or federal prison. The management of the different detention centers across the county is done by the sheriff, the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS), and the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP). The DPSCS oversees the activities of 27 state prisons and five detention facilities for pretrial inmates or short-term supervision. And pre-release centers, while each of the 26 county sheriffs within the state runs a county jail. The four federal prisons are for inmates sentenced to federal crimes, while county jails are for those sentenced to short sentences or awaiting trials.
Inmate Records
The Maryland Prison and jail system maintain a detailed record of all the detainees under their care. Any inmates who escape, get released, or otherwise leave the system are not shown. While the inmate information may contain similar vital information such as the inmate's date of birth, mugshots, crime, and bail amount, the details are kept by different institutions that house the inmate. Fortunately, all inmate information is public across the US and in conformity with Maryland's Public Information Act (PIA). That means you can easily access inmate records from all the public institutions and even third-party sites whenever you need it.
