District of Columbia Inmate Search

Updated on:
District of Columbia

The District of Columbia records all incarcerated inmates in correctional facilities and those in Halfway Houses. Keep track of inmates in the District of Columbia with the DOC State Prisoner Lookup. Start your search at the DC offender search website and enter either an inmate’s name and DCDC ID number or just two characters from the last name to get more potential matches. Information you can find includes physical description, gender, bookings, bond amount, release date, court files, offense committed, facility incarcerated and arrests.

Alternatively, use the Victim Information & Notification Everyday (VINE) to locate an incarcerated person. You will need to provide their offender ID number, metropolitan police department identification number, full name, or court case number. You can also do a free offender search by name on VINE by calling (877) 329-7894 and providing those details.

Locating Sex Offenders in the District of Columbia

Keeping tabs on sex offenders living in the District of Columbia is an important task. The police department works with local law enforcement to view and maintain the state's sex offender registry. This includes providing records of any individuals convicted of a sexual offense, such as their physical description, full name, arrest information, photographs, address and details concerning the offense they committed. To learn more about nearby sex offenders, people can easily search the public registry online. The information available from a search may consist of incarceration details like bookings and release dates as well as court documents from related proceedings. Keeping track of sex offenders helps ensure public safety and offers peace of mind for those worried about crime in their communities.

ICE Locator

The ICE Detainee Locator System allows people aged 18 years and above to find loved ones in ICE custody. If the detainee is a juvenile, you will need to contact your local field office to learn of their location.

You can use two main searchable options to locate detainees: searching by Alien Registration Number or by providing biographical details.

The Alien Registration Number consists of nine digits, which you can find on immigration documents such as work permits, passport visa stamps, green cards, and immigrant fee handouts. If the A-Number has fewer digits, add zeros at the beginning to get more accurate results.

When searching by biographical details, make sure that the detainee's name is an exact match for better results - include their age, date of birth and country of birth too.
